چکیده
Abstract Background Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome is a variant of the small pupil that has been observed during cataract surgery in some patients currently or previously treated with α1 adrenergic blockers. It important for surgeons to predict probable complications preoperatively. Our study aims evaluate static and dynamic characteristics silodosin—a selective blocker—for benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) compare these values healthy subjects using an automatic quantitative pupillometry system. Methods A total 74 BPH silodosin six months (group 1) 30 2) were enrolled this prospective multidisciplinary cross-sectional study. Static pupillometric measurements obtained under optimized conditions, results compared between two groups. Results Seventy-four male mean age 63,35 ± 7,21 (46–77) years normal 63,07 4,73 (52–71) analyzed. There statistically significant differences groups regard scotopic diameter (PD), high photopic PD, low PD ( p < 0.001, each one). The patient group had higher amplitude velocity contraction lower duration latency as well dilation. Conclusion are different from those eyes. In addition, our may have shed light on risk intraoperative (IFIS) before surgery; thus, can be alert take precautions.

Preparation, Characterization and Stability Study of Dutasteride Loaded Nanoemulsion for Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common condition in aging men, associated with lower urinary tract symptoms. It is caused due to the augmented levels of the androgen dihydrotestosterone. Dutasteride, a 5α-Reductase inhibitor has been recommended for the treatment of BPH upon oral administration. However, long term oral administration of dutasteride may cause sexual problem in man...

It has been reported that blockade of α1A-adrenoceptor (AR) relieves bladder outlet obstruction, while blockade of α1D-AR is believed to alleviate storage symptoms due to detrusor overactivity. Silodosin, (-)-1-(3-hydroxypropyl)-5-[(2R)-2-({2-[2-(2,2,2trifluoroethoxy) phenoxy]ethyl}amino)propyl]-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-7- carboxamide, is a new α1A-AR selective antagonist. Silodosin is highly sele...

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)-associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are highly prevalent in older men. Medical therapy is the first-line treatment for LUTS due to BPH. Alpha-adrenergic receptor blockers remain one of the mainstays in the treatment of male LUTS and clinical BPH. They exhibit early onset of efficacy with regard to both symptoms and flow rate improvement, and this is...

Twenty patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy were treated with Cernilton, 6 tablets a day for an average of 13.2 weeks. Subjective effectiveness was observed in the improvement of sense of residual urine (92%), retardation (86%), night frequency (85%), strain on urination (56%), protraction (53%) and forceless urinary stream (53%). The overall subjective effectiveness was 80% of patients, ...
